I must admit I've always been a huge fan of the Shrek movies, so given that I suppose that it's possible that I went into it expecting a little to much from this 3rd installment. But honestly I just didn't find this one to be as enjoyable as the previous 2 movies. It did have some humorous parts in it, but all and all in my humble opinion it's one that you can wait until it comes out on video to see it. Not really a must see! But as always just my opinion!! As always interested in your thoughts as well. So please feel free to share if you've had the chance to see it.

saw it. i agree with you pretty much. there were some funny parts, but overall it was ok. the first was so original.
Yeah I agree. I thought the second one was pretty good as well. They probably should have quit while they were ahead maybe!
It was a renter! Very disapointed!
You know I just think they can never meet our expectations after the first one of any series. We are so surprised with the first one and there is just no surprises because we know the story line already. Think of any series and it seems they are always disappointing. I know Julie and Cheri will say not Star Wars or Star Trek. But I bet no second movie is as good as the first. What do you think?????????/////
oh for sure empire strikes back was a great second movie. and aliens was much better as well. still thinking....
Ok so I've been thinking about what you said helen about a moives sequel never quite being as good as the original. Here is what I think.
I think when you are talking about movies and their sequels and whether or not they should make a sequel and or sequels as the case may be it all depends on the movie. Some movies in my opinion when they were first developed story wise the movies themselves weren't made with the possiblity of a sequel in mind, so the story doesn't leave itself open for sequels. But the orginal does so well at the box office that the studios want to capitalize on that movies success so much that they automaticlly think squels! Not giving much consideration as to whether or not the story is designed for sequels. Some movies are designed for two or more Sequels given who the orginal movie concept was written. Obvious examples of movies written with the concept of a sequel or Sequels are:
1.) Star Wars (Of Course)
2.) Star Trek (Of Course)
3.) Lord Of the Rings Series (Most Defintely!)
However with both the Alien and Die Hard series I think these are examples of a franchise pushed forward in later years by hopes of the movies title being enough to create success at the box office.
I don't really think there should have been an Aliens 3 or Alien Resurection per say. Or Die Hard with a Vengence or Live Free Die Hard.
I of course will keep an open mind and reserve judgement about the final Die Hard movie given it has yet to come out? But still. With those two Franchises It's my opinion thus far they should have at the very least stopped at two movies and then that should have been it!
Shrek series should have stopped at two as well. Sometimes as I said before I believe for sake of the quality of the franchise it is wiser to quit while you're ahead!!
